This week, PEF Capital Pty Ltd welcomed Gordon Anderson to its board of directors. Gordon joins PEF Capital as a non-executive director, bringing a wealth of institutional investment and portfolio management experience.
Stephen Arulogun, Executive Director, had the pleasure of making the appointment and said, “the success of any investment management firm depends on the depth of experience held by its board. Gordon is driven to perform and draws on experience from a number of different jurisdictions and we’re looking forward to his oversight at PEF Capital”.

A former equity strategist in Asia with Morgan Stanley, Gordon also launched the Australian Markets Group within Morgan Stanley’s Wealth Management Division. Gordon was previously Head Portfolio Manager at Rand Merchant Bank before moving abroad to take up a position as Managing Director of Visor Capital, one of the largest investment banks in Kazakhstan, where he was responsible for developing an entirely new portfolio management and risk management framework capable of monitoring risk across London-listed Russian and Kazakh global depositary receipts, equities and Eurobonds.
“What investors value most about us is our focus on corporate and operational risk management.”
Gordon has keen interest in risk management and will be independently reviewing the company’s policies to ensure that PEF Capital continues to maintain a best practice approach to risk management. “What investors value most about us is our focus on corporate and operational risk management”.
What does PEF Capital offer investors?
PEF Capital is a Brisbane-based investment management and corporate advisory firm offering several specialised funds that target Australian and global equity, fintech and venture capital investments, and high-return derivative trading opportunities. Its equity derivative fund is currently open for new investment. The fund focuses on 55 ASX200 companies and trades using a contrarian philosophy.
Stephen Arulogun heads of the investment team responsible for this strategy and notes that whilst financial markets have previously enjoyed predictable returns, times are now less certain and the exodus of investors from active fund managers to passive ‘index-tracking’ investments has raised concerns over whether the market as a whole is more susceptible to market risk. Stephen said, “our equities derivative fund aims to diversify that risk so that investors can enjoy greater certainty in the present economic climate”.
